French boudoir? English romance? Scottish passion? Take your pick!
These cosy cottages are beautifully appointed, offering a warmth and sense of comfort that is all too rare these days. Wood fires are a welcome option in Tassie’s cool climate, and guests rave about their hearty cooked breakfasts.
Oh, and did someone ask for a clawfoot bath?
I think it’s safe to say this is the best Launceston B&B accommodation option you will find!

5. Mantra Charles
Perfect for: Families and couples in search of space, comfort and no-fuss flexibility at a great price – with a little art deco on the side.
My wife and I stayed at Mantra Charles only months after they first opened in Launceston and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this tastefully remodelled art deco hospital.
Since then they have gone from strength to strength, and it is one of Launceston’s best ‘all round’ accommodation options for couples and families alike.
The rooms are comfortable and quiet, and we were really excited to find the restaurants of cosmopolitan Charles Street just minutes from our door.
You simply can’t go wrong with a weekend at Mantra Charles 👍

6. ART Hotel on York
Perfect for: Couples and small families seeking an historic boutique hotel experience in the heart of Launceston – including its own art gallery – at a ridiculously low rate.
At its heart lies an historic bakery from the 1870s, but the rooms and corridors of ART Hotel on York are overflowing with modern art.
With luxury pillow top mattresses and ultra comfortable leather chairs in every room it’s a mystery how this boutique hotel keeps its room rates so low – it has to represent one of the best value accommodation options in Launceston for couples and small families.
Cataract Gorge is a short walk away, as is Boags Brewery and the must-see Saturday Harvest Market.

7. Peppers Seaport

Peppers have a number of fantastic properties across Tasmania, and the Seaport is no different.
Perched above the North and South Esk rivers, this contemporary and stylish hotel has an excellent range of rooms for all styles of traveller – and it’s as close as you can possibly get to the buzzing dockside restaurants and bars of the wharf precinct.
Launceston is famous for its beautifully still, misty mornings, and Peppers Seaport is a really good spot to soak up the mirror-flat reflections on the water at sunrise

Rooms, apartments and kitchenettes are available, with spacious options for larger families. Gym junkies will love the on-site gym, while Bluestone Bar & Kitchen is the ideal place for your first taste of Tassie’s gourmet produce.

Big4 have a great reputation in the camping and caravanning community, and their Launceston Holiday Park is one of the reasons why.
There are accommodation options for all types of traveller – unpowered tent sites, fully concreted powered sites for the largest vans or motorhomes, and a lovely range of cabins with optional ensuite.
Wifi is available throughout the site, and the kids will love the playground and huge jumping pillow!
If you don’t like a concrete jungle, but still want to be close to the action, then this is the park for you and your family!
