About Us
Calling Tasmania home since 2004, Andrew Strikis has been a passionate advocate for Tasmania tourism for more than 10 years, working with and supporting many of Tasmania’s prominent organisations such as Tourism Northern Tasmania, Hobart and Beyond, and MONA.
Winning multiple awards for his food and travel writing, landscape photography, and digital marketing – including the Tourism Industry Council of Tasmania (TICT) 2021 Gold Award for Tourism Marketing and Campaigns – Andrew’s contribution to the Tasmanian tourism sector is significant, stemming from his passion for the Tasmanian outdoors and his desire to showcase Tasmania as the world’s premier road trip destination.
Together with his wife Karen he enjoys exploring Tasmania by road, meeting local Tasmanians and discovering new sights, attractions and hidden gems across the island. Through informative articles, in-depth reviews, engaging photography and first hand experiences, Andrew looks forward to sharing his local advice with fellow travellers on the Lap of Tasmania website, helping visitors to plan and enjoy their own Tasmania road trip!
Since launching in early 2019 the Lap of Tasmania has grown to not only become the world’s leading source of independent information for Tasmania road trippers, but it has also created a vibrant, diverse and friendly online community of interstate and international travellers, local Tasmanians, and Tasmanian tourism businesses.
