About Me - Bio Photo - Andrew Strikis

Hi there, and thanks for dropping by my tiny corner of the internet!

I’m Andrew, the creator and Founder of the Lap of Tasmania.

Calling Tasmania home since 2004, I have been a passionate advocate for Tasmania tourism for more than 10 years now, working with and supporting many of Tasmania’s prominent organisations such as Destination Southern Tasmania, Tourism Northern Tasmania, Hobart and Beyond, and MONA.

Over the years I have won multiple awards for my Tasmanian food and travel writing, landscape photography, and digital marketing – but the award I am most proud of is the Tourism Industry Council of Tasmania (TICT) 2021 Gold Award for Tourism Marketing and Campaigns.

My contribution to the Tasmanian tourism sector has been, and continues to be significant, reflecting my passion for the Tasmanian outdoors and desire to showcase Tasmania as the world’s premier road trip destination.

Together with my wife I enjoy exploring Tasmania by road, meeting local Tasmanians and discovering new sights, attractions and hidden gems across the island.

Using this extensive, hands-on experience I have created dozens of informative articles, in-depth reviews, itineraries and other practical resources that I love sharing with fellow travellers here on the Lap of Tasmania website, in my eBooks, and across my other digital channels, helping you to plan and enjoy your own Tasmania road trip!

Since launching in early 2019 the Lap of Tasmania has grown to become the world’s leading source of independent information for Tasmania road trippers, and our online community is both friendly and diverse, representing travellers from all walks of life.

Please feel free to drop by and say g’day, ask any questions to help with your planning, or to share your own travel stories and photos!
