Ashdowns of Dover B&B
Accommodation | Southern Tasmania | Dover
Tasmania’s ‘Far South’ is a great place to spend a weekend – or even a week if you’ve got the time!
In the heart of this beautiful region is the seaside town of Dover, just 70 minutes’ drive from Hobart, and you won’t find any better accommodation than the multi-award winning Ashdowns of Dover Bed & Breakfast.
Gary and Lorraine are your ultimate hosts, taking immense pride in helping you feel at home while showcasing all the best sights, attractions and experiences on offer, just a short drive away.
Modern, comfortable guestrooms are what you will find at your home-away-from-home, complete with ensuite bathrooms and options for king, queen or twin-bed configurations.
You will love the well stocked mini-bar full of quality wines, beers and tasty snacks, and for a bit of quiet time, why not stroll down to their riverside hideout and see if you can spy their resident platypus?
In winter you might be lucky and spot an aurora after dark, and even if Lady Light fails to make an appearance you can still kick back in front of the toasty fire-pit, look up and soak in the sparkling stars of the brightest Milky Way you’ve ever seen in your life!
Their traditional English breakfasts are a real highlight, and not just for the delicious meal either – the view of Reeves Hill from the sun-drenched guest lounge is a lovely way to start your day and get you excited for what’s to come!
Perhaps a drive to the secluded beaches, sculptures, and easy walking trails of Cockle Creek, at the end of the most southerly road in all of Australia? 🐋 Maybe a relaxing walk through lush rainforest before descending into darkness at the spectacular Hastings Caves? 🌿 Or is it a foodie escape that has you excited, enjoying the gourmet providence of the Huon Valley and beyond? 🧀😋
Whatever your holiday itinerary, at the end of the day Ashdowns of Dover B&B will welcome you home with open arms.
I love what Lorraine and Gary are doing to promote their local community and to support road trippers as they explore this sensational region, and I know you’ll leave with memories that last a lifetime!
Amazing service, very friendly and nothing was too much of an ask. Was able to not only cater to dietary needs (vegan) but excelled with a huge amazing breakfast and scones and tea on arrival. Lovely location, cosy fire pit and beautiful views.
