Storm Bay
Bed & Breakfast
Accommodation| Tasman Peninsula | White Beach
The Tasman Peninsula would have to be one of Tasmania’s best places to spend a weekend or more.
From the heart-breaking history of Port Arthur and the Coal Mines Historic Site, to the breathtaking natural wonders of the Tessellated Pavement and Devil’s Kitchen, to the world-class bushwalking at Cape Raoul and Cape Hauy… I can’t emphasise enough just how much you are going to love visiting this fantastic corner of Tasmania.
A lot of travellers think they can just whizz in and out again in a day, but a night or two is my recommendation, and without a doubt the best place to base yourself is with Sylvia and Dave at Storm Bay Bed & Breakfast – located in coastal White Beach, just 10 minutes’ drive from Port Arthur Historic Site!
The views alone from their modern, terraced bed and breakfast will provide hours of photographic bliss – especially at sunset or in the depths of winter when the Aurora Australis makes a rare appearance!
Sylvia and Dave have put so much love and attention into the little things that make all the difference in a quality B&B.
The delicious, homecooked hot breakfasts are a real highlight, including freshly baked bread, handmade jams, preserves, and even yoghurt 😋
I doubt you’ll find better views from your room either, with jaw-dropping ocean views as far as Bruny Island, the Hartz Mountains, and even the southwest wilderness region.
All rooms have been gorgeously appointed and your luxe linen and super comfy mattress are guaranteed to provide you with the deepest, most relaxing sleep ever – just what you need after a big day of sightseeing!
The outdoor kitchen on their expansive deck is perfect for self-catering, and they even have an EV charger on site, perfect for topping up overnight and setting yourself up for another full day of travel.

"We had a lovely 3-night stay at Storm Bay B&B. David and Sylvia are the most excellent hosts. They have a knack of being warm, welcoming, yet not overbearing or intrusive.
The home is very warm and comfortable. Our room (Acacia) was well appointed with a super comfy bed and pillows. The view from just about every window is picture perfect. The best bit for us was the breakfasts - hot, ample and cooked to order. We couldn't speak more highly of our stay!"- Stacey (Facebook)
The Tasman Peninsula is such a wonderful place to include on your Lap of Tasmania itinerary, and as you will quickly see, there is so much more on offer than just Port Arthur.
